As the Hair Stylist, you are responsible for providing a welcoming and professional environment for our residents by providing quality hair styling services. 

** Please note this opportunity is available June 1st, 2024, part time opportunity 4 days per week. 

Responsibilities  

  • Conferring with residents to determine hair styling needs, preferences, and specifications for an immediate client base 
  • Shampooing, conditioning, and drying residents' hair 
  • Cutting, trimming and styling hair, including colouring and waving 
  • Comfortable using various hairstyling tools and equipment, including hair straighteners, curling irons, rollers, hairdryers, and hot combs. 
  • Clean and sterilize all hair styling tools and instruments in accordance with provincial health regulations. Including maintaining a safe and sanitary salon environment. 
  • Maintain inventory of hair care products 
  • Build and maintain relationships with residents 

Qualifications and Experience 

  • Completion of cosmetology program is preferred
  • Hair stylist license is required 
  • Business operating license is required 
  • Liability insurance is required 
  • Three (3) years of experience is required 
  • Required to have hair styling tools and products 
  • Experience in an aging adults setting is an asset 
  • Superior organizational skills 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with peers and residents 
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to follow instructions 
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time 
  • Patient and detail oriented
